Winneconne Goes Single Stream
Single Stream Recycling - allows
all recyclables including paper, cardboard, cans and bottles to be mixed
together for collection, either in a cart or bin. It does NOT mean trash
materials are mixed with your recyclables, only that paper and container
recyclables may be mixed together.
Why change to Single Stream - it
makes recycling easy. No separation increases the ease and convenience
of recycling, so that more people participate and more resources are
saved. It can also make collection easier and more efficient as all
recyclables can be mixed in a single compartment in the truck.
Plastic Blue Bags - with
recyclables whether blue, clear or any other color) will not be accepted
as of January 2010. In addition, plastic bags should NOT be used at any
time with Single Stream Recycling.
