Village of Winneconne Seeks Public Input on New Comprehensive Plan Update
The Village of Winneconne, with the assistance of East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, is working on preparing an update to the Village’s existing Comprehensive Plan that was adopted in 2007. The new plan will set forth a vision and polices that will guide future land use decisions over the next 20 years. A kickoff meeting was held in March, 2018 with the Village’s Plan Commission to review the planning process and to adopt the required Citizen Participation Plan. The project is expected to be completed in mid-2019. Area residents can access a new on-line tool to help provide ideas and comments about many facets of the plan and the overall future of the Village. Entitled “Your Future Starts Today”, the on-line portal will allow participants to answer a few survey questions, as well as use some interactive maps to draw out their own points and boundaries on topics pertaining to neighborhoods, transportation, re-development, and areas for new growth.
