Village Clerk

Role of the Clerk
The Village Clerk is appointed by the Village Board. The Clerk's Office is where you can find all of the official records and copies of the Village of Winneconne's ordinances.

The Village Clerk is also in charge of all elections. The Village Clerk's office maintains all of the voting equipment and collects, tabulates, and reports election results.

Duties
Specific duties of the Village Clerk include the following:
  • Collection of real estate, personal property, and special assessment taxes.
  • Collects all cash payments including water and sewer, license and permit fees, and tax payments.
  • Issuing of municipal licenses as required by local ordinance and state statute including:
    • Alcohol
    • Bartender
    • Beverage
    • Cigarettes
  • Maintaining special assessments for sewer and water, asphalt, curb and gutter, and special charges for property improvements.
  • Prepares deposits and cash reconciliations.
  • Prepares Legal Notices and publications.
  • Preserving all contracts, bonds, and oaths of office.
  • Publication of all legal notices, filing and indexing of all proceedings of the Village Board of Trustees.
  • Reconciles annual tax roll.
  • Safekeeping and maintaining all election records as required by the laws of the State of Wisconsin.
  • Secretary to Village Board of Trustees.
  • Sends out tax bills and delinquency notices.
  • Voter registration.
