About the Board

The Village Board is vested with all powers not otherwise assigned to another Village official or committee.

According to Village Code and Wisconsin law, the Board may:

  • Enact ordinances and policies for the good order, health, safety, and welfare of the public
  • Levy taxes and adopt the municipal budget
  • Manage and control Village-owned property, streets, public services, and infrastructure
  • Establish fees, fines, and special assessments
  • Appoint standing committees and advisory boards
  • Exercise authority through licensing, regulation, enforcement, and other means permitted by law

On behalf of the Village of Winneconne Board of Trustees, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our community. Whether you are new to the area or a lifelong resident like myself, Winneconne is a place many are proud to call home. It offers an exceptional quality of life, combining natural beauty, a strong sense of community, and a welcoming environment ideal for families.

We take pride in our excellent schools, full-service local government, growing industrial base, and locally owned small businesses, as well as our outstanding parks system. Conveniently located just minutes from State Highways 45 and 41, the Village provides both accessibility and small-town charm. Our downtown is recognized for its unique shopping and vibrant dining options.

The Wolf River runs through the heart of the Village, with Lake Winneconne and Lake Butte des Morts bordering its north and south ends. These waterways are well known for excellent fishing, particularly for walleye and white bass. With more than 100 acres of parks and open space, Winneconne offers abundant recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike.

Whether you are exploring the area or considering making Winneconne your home, we are happy to have you here and welcome you to "The Community of Opportunity".
